The 16 Days of Activism Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to end violence against women and to advocate for the promotion and protection of women’s rights. The campaign runs annually from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights).
Gender Ink theme for the Campaign is “Silencing the Silence”.
In the bid to silence the silence, we will create awareness of the need to Speak Out on incidences of GBV, whether we are victims, survivors, or witnesses. Calling out these acts which violate human rights moves us a step closer to preventing and eliminating gender-based violence. We are calling on all of us, women and girls, men and boys, to join in this fight by demystifying the myths, unlearning and relearning issues on GBV.
